A Romantic Mediterranean inspired Wedding Styled-Shoot at the Hill House in Durham.

Imagine finding your dream wedding venue in the heart of Downtown Durham, North Carolina. Offering true architectural bliss, Spanish charm and the most romantic garden terrace, Hill House really outdoes itself as a local alternative to a destination wedding venue.

I wanted to start the year with a bang and get my destination couples excited for their upcoming 2025 euro-summer weddings. For this romantic mediterranean wedding styled shoot, Lauren’s bridal look embodied the perfect blend of modesty and feminine sensuality with her gorgeous over the shoulder custom made satin wedding dress from Meagan Kelly Designs. Nothing paired better with the fit than her sleek kitten Jimmy Choo heels, sculptural Leletny earrings, and beautiful mantilla veil. The final look was fabulous. Beside her, Ryan showed off his Italian cut Joseph A. Bank suit and stylish loafers to showcase the value of a groom having his “moment” for photographs on a wedding day as well.

Coming in high fashion and style with their upscale, fashion-forward, and incredible design eye, I had the absolute pleasure of working alongside full-service luxury wedding planners & designers, Honey & Thyme on this shoot. The team brought in all the right vendors and never before seen rentals to match the style we were going for, encouraged us to go out of the box creatively, and I was truly amazed at their ability to actually outshine the vision board with their artistic yet elegant flare, which was a beautiful surprise on the day of the shoot. Working with Honey & Thyme really took everything to the next level, like the team’s unique take on a caviar bar and use of cherry red drapery for a wow moment instead of the classic white.

Honey & Thyme collaborated with iconic florist/textile artist, Meraki Blommor, to make this day come to life. With a mix of stunning and unique structural florals, multiple different colorful bridal bouquet concepts, and creativity like no other, she was truly make the mediterranean vision come to life. The table scape was covered in taupe drapery surrounded by a cascading of various fruits, stone, and other organic elements to perfectly complement the chrome accents and bring in a romantic feel to the day. Not to mention, the most incredible statement piece wisteria branch bouquet featured below.

As a wedding photographer with a love for destination wedding photography and travel, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of romanticism and nostalgia throughout the day. I was swooning over the opportunity to capture the aesthetics of the setting and document the couple’s minimalist details against the dramatic backdrop of the venue, which also made for a perfect spot to take couples portraits. I was honored to create this collection of photographs filled with so much raw emotion, passion, nostalgia, authenticity and Euro-style elegance. I was able to stay true to my style in blending documentary wedding photography, editorial artistry, and visual poeticism throughout this day.

It really was a day to remember.
